Sindhu Education Foundation

Sindhu Education Foundation

The Education Foundation has been named after the mighty river “Sindhu” (Indus) which symbolizes the most ancient, rich, civilization. It is also a philosophy of life that cuts across ethnic barriers between men. Just like the permanence and continuity of the Sindhu, Indian civilization works for permanence and love for humanity. Hence the name.

Sindhu Education Foundation was established in the year 2000 A.D. and Registered Charitable Trust.

The Founder Philanthropist Sri. Mitter Sen Sindhu feels that “Education should liberate human being from the shackles of ignorance, privation and misery”. He stresses that education should be rooted in Indian reality and its composite culture. In his opinion education has to play a dual role of being conservative and dynamic bringing about a fine synthesis between change-oriented technologies and continuity of Indian culture tradition.

Indus Public School has been established to put this vision in practice to initiate a ceaseless process of searching qualitative improvement in response to changes taking place in the society. The school is developing a delivery system to make the vision of the founder President a vibrant reality.

National curriculum Framework of School Education 2000 A.D. talks about multiple intelligence as opposed to the traditional concept of intelligence. Multiple intelligence views every individual as a unique person and the uniqueness influences the various ways in which learning takes place, an idea like this, which does not hold intelligence as a unitary concept, but a multiple attribute promotes personalization of education by connecting the learner’s total life to the learning in the classroom.

Indus Public School shall endeavour to put this concept in practice. This will ensure success to many and hence better level of self-esteem amongst students.

Sindhu Education Foundation has been deeply involved in the education and social transformation evolving in our motherland for decades. While analyzing various parameters which have been in flux and will remain transient, the Founder President is of the opinion that we shall have to adopt the openness of the Vedanta and Upanishads. He feels that our children should have the moral courage of Nachiketa to question and the determination to seek the ultimate truth yet should have the ingrained humanity to ask the first boon that his father should remain loving and affectionate towards him as before that is the Ideal Sindhu Education Foundation strives to inculcate in our students.

Sindhu Education Foundation is sensitive to the central issue of social cohesion, secularism and national integration and their relevance to the entire educational process.
